Not sure if many of you know this, but I own a Humber Barge. Lived on it for 15 years and ran it as a cafe. Tomorrow the timber roof garden is being removed so the vessel can be sailed to Plymouth where it is to start a new life as a restraunt. Two lads, Mark and Sam are going to run it and they intend to take a BBC crew with them when they sail it down. The best news for them is the fact they are not having to buy it. I keep ownership of the Barge and rent it to them. My plan is to see the Barge increase in value so when they sell their business in 5 years I can then have the choice of increasing the rent or selling it for vastly more than it is worth with its present moorings. A boat is only worth what it is moored against. Not sure if I will be here to go with them to Plymouth. I would be so sick anyway!
